Jerry Seinfeld was originally scheduled to perform one stand-up comedy show at the Genesee Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois on March 19, 2016. But the show proved so popular, a second show had to be added. Now, tickets are available for a 7:00pm show, followed by a newly-added 9:30pm show.
The theater’s website touts, ‘America’s premier comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, returns to the historic Genesee Theatre performing his signature stand-up routine. Seinfeld has been hailed for his uncanny ability to joke about the little things in life that relate to audiences everywhere. Seinfeld now sets his sights on performing both nationally and internationally in 2016.’

The Genesee Theatre was originally built in 1927 but closed in 1989 due to an economic recession and a nationwide decline in trips to the movie theater. VCR’s and other home theater equipment, not to mention skyrocketing movie theater ticket prices, kept many Americans at home and away from public theaters. But with the help of the local community, the Genesee Theatre re-opened in 2004 and has been an integral stop for celebrities touring the nation ever since.
Jerry Seinfeld isn’t the only celebrity performing at the Genesee in the coming days. Other upcoming shows include the Russian Ballet tomorrow, Wynonna Judd on the 30th, Vicki Lawrence and Mama on February 6, the game show the Price Is Right will be there on March 5, and rock-n-roll legend Jethro Tull will perform on April 1st. Those are just a sampling, with plenty of other shows scheduled in between.
