Chicago Irish Christmas Market December 11-13

November 24, 2015. Chicago. (ONN) Thanksgiving may be a couple days away, but it’s never too soon to mark your calendar for fun, family-oriented Christmas events. One of those is the 2nd annual Chicago Irish Christmas Market. This three-day event is held on Chicago’s north side at the Northcenter Town Square near Lincoln, Damen and Irving Park Avenues. Santa Clause will be there, along with music, vendors and a host of traditional European-style holiday fare. And best of all, admission is FREE!

“Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience as Northcenter Town Square is transformed into a family-friendly, European-style outdoor marketplace that features a tree-lighting ceremony, Santa, Christmas Tree Parade, crafts, activities and more,” touted event organizer Michael Van Den Bosch in a recent announcement, “Chicago’s Irish Christmas Market showcases Irish products, artisan gifts, seasonal fare and festive entertainment. So bring your family and friends to celebrate the spirit of Christmas at this three-day event.”



While Santa won’t be in attendance on Friday, he will be there on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 2:00pm each day to visit with the kids and hear first-hand what they want for Christmas. Reservations required - visit IrishXmasMarket.com to purchase your photo package and reserve your time with Santa. The holiday tree lighting is scheduled for 7:00pm Friday night. And Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade queen and her court will be present on Sunday from 11:30 to 3:00.

Organizers proudly remind attendees that the Chicago Irish Christmas Market benefits local charities and social organizations that help the neighborhood’s less fortunate. The event’s website explains, ‘Chicago's Irish Christmas Market will be collecting donations of shelf stable foods, toiletries and seasonal clothing to benefit the Common Pantry and The Lincoln Square Friendship Center. Each person to make a donation will receive a copy of WTTW's documentary 'Irish Chicago' while supplies last. Your support of Chicago's Irish Christmas Market will help spread the Christmas spirit to families in need.’
